So, here it is. I have been putting off writing a blog for a while, I just never really thought it could catch on, and I kind of didn’t have time to dedicate to it. I finally got some free time and also the motivation to write this…don’t ask me where either of those two came from, because I couldn’t tell you.
I really wanted my first blog post to be about something meaningful, but to be honest, the only thing I can really think of right now…is the horrible customer service I have received as of late from Verizon FIOS. Let me just say, I have had Verizon Wireless (cell phone) for a while now and have not experienced any problems with the product or the support. They are always very nice and fix the problems that pop up now and then. About two months ago, when I moved, I got FIOS installed and added it to my Wireless bill in what they call a “Flex Bundle” — don’t be fooled, there’s nothing flexible about this sham of a service/product. Don’t get me wrong, the FIOS itself (as an internet product) is amazing. It’s lightning fast and I love it, but their support is the absolute worst I have ever experienced. Those of you who know me probably know that when I am not being SERVICED by a CUSTOMER SERVICE PROFESSIONAL, well, I tend to get really irritated. I’m sorry if this offends you, but I really don’t care…it’s not that damn difficult to fix problems and if you can’t fix them, you better be milking my prostate verbally because I am not going to be nice about the situation. Let me clarify, the problem is with my billing. Theoretically, FIOS is suppose to pay my Wireless bill and then it gets added to my FIOS bill which I pay online…well a month of complaining got me no where, and neither of my accounts allowed me to pay online, nor did they reflect my actual charges in my account. I gave up and had them remove the connection between both accounts and I think my Wireless account is fixed and I should be able to pay this accordingly…however, a huge problem still exists with the FIOS end of this. The bills are wrong, I made payments that aren’t showing up, but the funds are missing from my bank account. What. The. Eff? This is a much abridged version of this story, because the real one spans two months of me screaming at Verizon, getting connected to more people who don’t speak english/can’t help me with my problem, or flat out being hung up on. I fully intend on writing a letter to the highest people I can reach at Verizon and detailing these events. I have receipts, chat transcripts, recordings, etc of all this nonsense.
Anyhow, this is my blog, that’s the kind of thing I will post about…because to be perfectly honest, people are really really stupid. I am not talking about “oh you misspelled this word” stupid, I am talking about a kind of stupid that just transcends an accurate written portrayal. I can’t even describe how stupid some people are. I’ve just reached a point in my life where I simply can’t deal with this kind of behavior and I tend to let these people know it, and then now I suppose I will write about…balee dat!
